Good Habits vs Bad Habits
I then got to thinking about the habits we have and what makes a habit good or bad.
If it’s a ‘bad’ habit that makes you feel good does that make it a ‘good’ habit? I guess that’s up to the individual to decide.
Is there just good or bad? Or maybe we should include a ‘healthy’ option. I’m guessing that a healthy habit is something that can enrich your life, be it physical, mental, emotional or spiritual. I don’t know yet and is something I will definitely be thinking about over the coming days.
For the record, I’m not thinking about huge habits here, like smoking for example. Just the little ones that we have in our day to day lives.
I’ve also started thinking about habits I want to make and break.
More on that later.
What this blog will be about
I had an idea at 2.34am this morning. It wasn’t an original idea but it seemed to be something I could make work for me.
I’ve been increasingly frustrated by a NEED to change my life but whenever I’ve embarked upon this epic quest, it always ends in an epic fail. Why? I think it’s a question of too much too soon.
So my bleary brain at 2.34am went “Hey! Apparently it takes 21 days to make or break a habit, so why not try that for a while?!”. Thanks brain. Please try and restrict thinking to daylight hours. :-/
I have to admit that it made sense. You can’t just sit at a piano and know how to play it, right? No, you have to start at the very beginning and try and pick out the notes.
So that’s my starting point. Little things, little habits in my life that I know aren’t doing me any favours and need to be looked at.
This could be an interesting experiment….
